You never know

There's a kind of people
who seems cold and hard to talk to at first sight
When they introduce themselves, it is always short and simple
If you talk to them, they will talk to you 
but you just feel like there's a distance between you two 
and you start to get a feeling that they don't really want to be friend with you 
Sometimes you feel like they care about you
but sometimes you feel like you don't matter to them
At first you might think that, "Okay maybe they don't like me" and just shrug it off 

But when you walk away from them, maybe they won't say it out loud and show any sign,
but inside they are hurt once again
"So you don't really care about me"
"So you don't take me seriously... 
"so you don't like me"
their confusing attitude towards you is their way of testing you 
They want to know if you truly want to be friend with them
Because once they accept you as their friend, you will be their friend forever 
They will trust you with their everything 
if you act cold towards them, they will act cold towards you too, perhaps even more so
it's like some competition that they cannot lose 
they are scared that if they show their weakness to you, they will be completely exposed
they are scared that if you walk away from them, they don't know how to deal with their self-esteem
All of this is just a way to protect their delicate side
The prideful they are and the harder they are to understand
means the more afraid they are to be hurt and the easier they are to give their trust away
And most importantly, the more they need you to be by their side
If you know someone like this, try to be nice to them 
because you never know...
behind their unapproachable mask...
